Reverend Sprouse came to us after serving as the pastor of an ecumenical congregation, United Christian Parish in Reston, Va. He has served as a United Methodist pastor since 1976. He graduated from the University of Virginia undergraduate and graduate schools and Union Theological Seminary in Richmond, Va. Jim taught Doctrine and Polity at Union Theological Seminary and the School of Theology at Virginia Union for 12 years.
He is married to the former Mary Price Carpenter of Richmond, VA. Molly was a writer and copy editor with the Richmond Times Dispatch. Their 3 children are adults. Catherine manages the Barnes and Noble bookstore in Bethesda, MD. Emily is completing her studies at Virginia Commonwealth University and works as a claims representative for VISA. Patrick works at Neighborhood Investments in Charlottesville.
Well experienced in preaching, teaching and in administration, Jim has served the following Virginia Conference churches: Schuyler-Green Mountain Charge, Willis, Bon Air, Aldersgate, Emmanuel, and United Christian Parish. He is currently the Chair of the Arlington District Committee on Ordained Ministry.

Associate Pastor Kathleene B. Card

Our Associate Pastor, Kathleene Card, came to us from Arlington Forest United Methodist Church in Arlington, VA. She graduated from The University of Massachusetts and Wesley Theological Seminary. Kathleene has served at Trinity United Methodist Church for six years. She was recently ordained as an Elder in Full Connection at the Virginia Annual Conference.
