Action. With our faith comes a social conscience, so we bring our values and our voices to the public arena. To the best of our ability, we must understand the issues facing our society, look at these issues honestly and take action predicated on the social principles and values in which we believe. The United Methodist Church has a long history of concern for community and society. Its members have often taken forthright positions on controversial issues involving Christian principles and have stood up against injustice in our community and the world, and standing up for what is right and fair.
